Privacy Policy — Boostify
Last updated July 8, 2026 · Hosted on brkmb.com (Google Search Console verified)
Boostify is a free Chrome extension that enhances audio and video in your browser. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, why, and how it is handled. Boostify is built privacy-first: processing runs locally in your browser and we do not operate backend servers for the extension.
Data collection disclosure
The following describes user data, permissions, and page context the extension may access.
- Extension settings & preferencesVolume, speed, EQ, video filters, presets, themes, keyboard shortcuts, and per-site allow/block rules — stored in chrome.storage.local on your device only.
- Per-site configurationDomain-specific settings so preferences persist when you return to a site. Stored locally; never transmitted to us.
- Active tab media contextWhile the extension is ON, it interacts with HTML5 audio/video on the active page to apply your chosen enhancements. No page content, history, or media files are uploaded or stored on our servers.
Permissions
- storageSave your settings and per-site preferences on the device.
- activeTab / scriptingApply audio and video processing on the page you are viewing when you enable Boostify.
- Host access (declared sites)Required to inject enhancement scripts only on pages where you use the extension. We do not read or collect browsing history beyond what is needed to apply settings on the current tab.
Single purpose
All data access exists solely to provide Boostify's core functionality: local audio/video enhancement, per-site controls, Quiet Ads volume adjustment on supported sites, and saving your preferences. Data is not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
No sale or sharing of user data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data or browsing information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Boostify does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Data retention & deletion
Settings persist in chrome.storage.local until you change them, reset the extension, or uninstall Boostify. We do not retain copies on our servers because no user data is sent to us.
Uninstall the extension or clear its storage in Chrome (Settings → Extensions → Boostify → Remove, or clear site/extension data) to delete all locally stored preferences. Email hi@brkmb.com if you need help.
Third parties
Boostify does not integrate third-party data processors. Chrome Web Store distribution is subject to Google's policies; we do not receive your browsing data through that channel.
